Welcome to Burnstock Farm

Burnstock Farm is located in the heart of Boxford, Massachusetts. For over 40 years, the Burns family has been dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for both horses and riders. Our specialty is providing an enriched forever home for retired horses and leading a vibrant girls’ riding club that fosters confidence, community, and emerging young leaders. We are not a boarding barn, which allows us to focus all of our energy on teaching, learning, and building lasting connections among our riders and horses.

 

We offer a wide range of services, including horse training, riding instruction, trail rides, nature excursions, show coaching, and our unique Saturday morning Riding Club. With eight trusted lesson horses and individualized instruction, riders can explore disciplines from Western pleasure to English riding—whether it’s hunter-jumpers, eventing, cross-country, stadium jumping, or relaxed trail riding through some of New England’s most beautiful landscapes.

 

Our rides and excursions make use of the Bay State Circuit Trails, the Trustees of Reservations, and nearby trail systems such as Pipe Stave, Bradley Palmer State Park, Maudsley State Park, Crane Beach, and Salisbury Beach. With access to miles of scenic riding, beaches, and USEF-sanctioned showgrounds within 50 miles, Burnstock provides unparalleled opportunities for growth and adventure.

Burnstock Farm is owned and operated by Matti Burns, a successful equestrian competitor with deep ties to the local community. She is joined by her mother, Nancy Burns, a respected business leader who has guided the riding club for more than 40 years. Together, they bring experience, passion, and a strong commitment to continuing Burnstock’s legacy for future generations.
